Residential Training Events
RESIDENTIAL EVENTS TRAINING
SATURDAY 24 MARCH 2007
This training day will be split into two parts
(You can come just for the morning or stay all day):
The morning is aimed at experienced Guiders, Residential Advisers, new Guiders and those working on their residential licence. The training will be in the form of a wide game, to act as a refresher, or as an introduction to running a residential event. The aim is to learn through doing and teamwork.
The afternoon is specifically for Guiders wishing to start working on their residential licence or those already started who want to know more about what is involved. The afternoon will focus on the process of planning and organising a residential event. Please bring your own copy (or borrow one for the day!) of the Residential Training Scheme book (available from guide shop).
The venue for this event will be confirmed nearer the date but is likely to be a school or campsite to the west of Southampton.
The morning will run from 10am–12pm.
The afternoon will run from 1pm–3pm.
Those wishing to stay all day will require a packed lunch.
The cost will be £5 cheques payable to The Guide Association
(The cost is the same for morning or all day as it covers venue, drinks and wide game costs only!)
If you wish to book a place, complete the slip below and return it with £5 to: Mrs Jennie Hogan, 199 Woodlands Road, Woodlands, Hampshire, SO40 7GL
No later than Friday 16 March.

As of January 2006 a fee will be payable with registration to help cover the costs of administration and mentors expenses for visits to camps etc. The fees will be:
£10 for any camp/holiday scheme qualification
£5 for a senior section permit and all other outdoor qualifications
Cheques should be made payable to The Guide Association and enclosed with the registration form.
Please complete and send the form to Mrs Ruth Dingley, 5 Pine Close, Ashurst, Southampton, SO40 7BU. Tel: 02380 293838
Once registered you will be invited to a mentor/mentee workshop to meet with a mentor on a one to one basis who will guide you through what you need to gain your qualification. For information, the workshop dates are 15 March 2007, 8 May 2007 and 5 July 2007.
