Changes to 1st Response Training
Girlguiding has been working with The Scout Association to bring our 1st Response training in line with other youth organisations and as of 1st November 2020, there will no longer be a two-hour refresher course.
Key details of the new model:
Guidance around acceptable external First Aid qualifications and trainer requirements will also be updated to provide much more clarity.
1st Response is the first aid training aimed at adults in Girlguiding who require basic first aid skills for use during Guiding activities. It is a requirement that every unit must have at least one Leader with an up to date First Response certificate.
