1. Districts and Divisions are responsible for establishing local systems of support for Leaders in Training including the appointing of Mentors. The County Leadership Coordinator will provide trainings for new Mentors. If no Mentors are available then Leader in Training can be supported by her Unit Leader and attend the monthly Mentor Clinics held at Chandlers Ford Guide Shop where she will be able to meet with a Mentor.
2. Districts and Divisions are responsible for funding the Leadership Qualfication workbooks for Leaders in Training. The County will fund workbooks for Mentors.
3. At the first meeting the Leaders in Training should be introduced to the Girlguiding Leadership Qualification workbook. The link between this and the ‘Getting Started’ booklet should be made clear to the Leader in Training so that she can choose her preferred method of recording her progress.
4. Completed workbooks or Getting Started booklet along with supporting evidence can also be taken to the Mentor Clinics where it can be verified and returned while you wait.
