Safeguarding Forms
South West England Region have created two forms to help you with reporting and recording all actions taken when making a safeguarding disclosure to Girlguiding. They have also created a guidance sheet which explains the forms and how to use them. (Downloads available at the bottom of this page). If you have any queries or questions relating to safeguarding contact them at safeguarding@ggswe.org.uk or contact the County Safeguarding Adviser (details below).
Gloria Brown - Safeguarding Adviser
Many of you will know me already. I was appointed county Safe from Harm adviser 20 years ago when the Girlguiding Safe From Harm policy and trainings were first introduced. Safe From Harm later changed to Safe Space. I delivered the Safe From Harm and Safe Space trainings until two years ago.
I should like to explain a little about my role as Hampshire West Safeguarding adviser/coordinator.
My role as Safeguarding coordinator is to provide support and advice to commissioners, leaders and other volunteers.
The role has a range of elements which include:
- Support commissioners with safeguarding disclosures.
- Managing and assisting with child protection or vulnerable adult investigations at a local level.
- Acting as a point of contact for the region and HQ safeguarding teams.
- Promoting safeguarding awareness and messages from region and HQ safeguarding teams.
- Communicating issues or concerns that relate to policies and procedures which need to be raised with HQ to the region safeguarding teams
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about keeping yourself or the young people with whom you work safe, or if you want to talk about a disclosure, recent or historical.
I look forward to meeting many of you at county events.
Gloria Brown
